Research Unit 1 - Adaptive Control Faculty of Mechanical and Systems Engineering
The Adaptive Control research unit is based at the Virtual Automation Lab research institute and focuses on optimising the production process with regard to various criteria, such as minimum production time with maximum energy efficiency. To this end, an automatic online capability assessment of all production systems involved, so-called Micro Manufacturing Units (MMU), is being investigated on the basis of data, models and methods with digital twins. The use of autonomous indoor flying robots is being researched as a highly flexible transport system for executing the production process. To support people in the constantly changing production environment, research questions on mixed reality-based assistance systems are being considered.
