Workshop regulations (English version available soon)

Obtain access authorization for the devices/machines

The use of the available equipment and machines is regulated separately from access to MakerSpacES! by a traffic light system, according to which the equipment and machines in MakerSpacES! are clearly marked. In order to be allowed to use the tools, machines and equipment, you may have to take part in a training and instruction course to obtain authorization to use them.

How do I get an access authorization to the devices and machines?

A requirement for the use of tools and devices marked "yellow" or "red" (see traffic light system) is instruction and training in the context of regularly scheduled appointments. In the appointment for the specific instruction, the safe handling of the tools and machines is explained to the users and hazards and necessary protective equipment are pointed out.

All instruction and training in MakerSpacES! takes place personally and on site by the coordinator, as does every work instruction. As a general rule, all briefings and instructions must be repeated annually. Successful briefings and instructions are documented by signature in corresponding lists.

You can find all the Introductory courses to the equipment/machines here.

Green: This authorization level includes instruction in the general workshop rules. After this instruction, you receive a card activation for the room, may enter the MakerSpacES! and work there at one of the workstations (digital). The use of simple tools such as scissors, glue, hammers, etc. is permitted.

Yellow: After the completed instruction (i.e. proper operation of devices/machines) as well as instruction (occupational health and safety instruction), the classification into the "yellow authorization level" takes place. This includes, for example, cordless drills, hacksaws and hand saws, soldering irons, microcontrollers, etc.

Red: Anyone who wants to work on machine systems such as the 3D printer, the cutting plotter, the transfer press or the laser cutter requires access authorization to the "red level". A distinction is made here between the individual systems and detailed, system-specific instruction and training must be provided for each machine. The dates for instruction and training can be found here on the website (see dates above).
